If you have not experienced an energy healing modality yet I suggest starting with a chakra clearing. When you clear the central chakratic channel from the Earth Star, one foot below the feet, to the Soul star chakra, one foot above the head, it creates an open space where stuck energy can move out of the body, releasing to Earth for transmutation.  It allows the individual’s source code light to flow into the body more fully helping to raise the vibrational frequency and bring awareness of energies to which one was previously blind. Sometimes there is a release of trauma, sometimes pattens of behavior are released and certainly energy that does not belong to the recipient is cleared.  Since each individual has a different path and is dealing with different issues within the emotional, mental or physical body each will have a different experience.  
The chakras work as vortexes spinning life force into the body each connecting with an area of the endocrine system.  A blocked chakra can show up in different ways.  A blocked or closed root chakra for example can show up as feeling abandoned or lack of prosperity.  The sacral chakra can be blocked from sexual trauma and can show up as lack of creativity. Receiving a chakra clearing will work to assist all other types of healing as it addresses life force energy flow.  When energy is flowing all areas of the body and energy field benefit.
