Happy December. November flew by and now the holidays are in full swing. I have already received a few holiday cards and indulged at my husband's big family party and it is only the 6th. I was fortunate to spend some time on a lovely island off the coast of Cancun Mexico for my anniversary in November. On the beach one day I was speaking with a woman staying at the same hotel. She was reading a book called 21 days of Gratitude. It was a journal that encourages the reader to write down 3 things they are grateful for each day. I thought 'that sounds great'. I forgot about it until I came home. As I was shopping the day before Thanksgiving I noticed the people around me were frantic and stressed out. Driving crazily, grabbing and pushing. Tis the season to give, receive and indulge. Some find themselves feeling pressure to follow old traditions. Some may feel nostalgia or sadness - missing loved ones and longing for the past. I have been pensive about what the holiday season means to me. Taking stock of the old traditions and really looking at what they mean to me. I keep returning to love and gratitude. I have decided to start a new tradition. I hope you will join me.
